I got an $8 charge on my credit card. I called the number attahced and located that it was a legitimate (fine print) charge.
It is a thirty party hotel reservation group and if you go to the Ereservation Groups web page it clearly states the hotel will charge the guests the fee at the time of arrival and the hotel will be billed for the money from them.No where does it say they bill the guests directly,Looks like a double billing scam to me.
Scam charge yesterday, Called Credit Card company to cancel the card
Got the $8 charge on my January 2021 credit card statement. I have not booked a hotel through an online service since mid-October 2020. I did, however, recently use this card to book a cruise directly through the cruise website. I suspect these thieves use illegal email scanning equipment to target their victims. I see identical complaints going back many years.
Second time this year they tried to fraudulently tried to charge my account. Had to cancel two cards. Haven’t booked anything this year.
