Victim of ROSS STORE #512 on January 30, 2018

I was charged twice, for several hundred dollars each, by this location. It occurred when I was on a business trip in Jacksonville, Florida, making me suspect I was a victim of a credit card skimmer. Probably one of the "mom and pop" restaurants I visited. More reason to always pay cash when you eat out where the servers can take your credit card behind a room and do things with it you can't see. From my understanding, ROSS is a department store chain that caters towards discount bargain shoppers. This charge comes from a ROSS at the following location: 13300 S Cleveland Ave, Fort Myers, Florida 33907. It's phone number is 239-482-2152. Long story short: someone stole the card info and went shopping there. Thanks to technology, theives can copy the info on your credit card with computers called skimmers, and use that to create counterfit credit cards. This ROSS location apparently allows people to charge $200+ purchases without checking for signatures or picture ID. And there ya go... that's what's happening. No point trying to fight with that ROSS store directly. They'll just tell you to leave or hang up the phone. Go to your Bank or Credit Union and have it removed by them. This ROSS location has a loooooong history of credit card fraud problems, so they'll believe you and reverse the charges. ROSS needs to better train the people who work at this location... but that will only happen if ROSS keeps losing money there. So get your stolen card refunded, and if it happens enough times, ROSS HQ will solve the problem.
