You are giving money to Rupert Murdoch, in this instance. News.com.au or The Australian for example. Whether that's scammy is for you to decide but it is a legit (ahem) company.

I signed up for NRL SuperCoach gold.... I think this transaction was for that subscription

My husband just told me it is a charge for playing Super Coach. He just copped a mouthful from me! I don't mind the playing and the charge - he just didn't tell me and I have wasted an hour tracking it down. Ggrrr

I had a $4.99 charge appearing on my statement each month for News Digital Subs Surry Hills. After seeing on here that it was something to do with News media, I called the Customer Support number for the Courier Mail on 1300 69 63 97 to find out of I had a subscription, because I certainly don't receive newspapers and didn't recall signing up for one. After fudging my way through the IVR phone system to finally get to talk to a human, it turns out that this is a charge for Fox Sports News through the Telstra TV that we signed up for last April. Apparently there was a "3 month free deal" for this Fox app that then automatically charges after the 3 months is up. I don't remember seeing any emails from Telstra that the 3 month period was up and I was now going to be charged, but that's not to say that there wasn't one. Anyway, the girl I spoke to was very helpful and cancelled the charge for me from now on. She explained that it will still show on the TV as an app but it won't be active so I will not be charged for it. Apparently, this has caught a lot of people out and some haven't realised for years. Luckily I stopped it after 9 months, but that's still $45 wasted. Hope this helps you.

For me , this charge is a legitimate charge for home delivery of the Courier Mail in Brisbane. News Corp also publishes many other newspapers, including The Australian, Herald Sun, The Daily Telegraph.

My Visa card has been charged by News Digital subs Surry a Hills Aus every month for $32 when I looked it up that name is a scam I am now trying to get Visa to cancel..

the amount appearing on my bank account as a Visa purchase is not legally setup. This is a fraud and each time I have tried to cancel the payment altogether, I do not wish to nor ever subscribed to the NEWS DIGITAL SUBS SURRY HILLS - therefore I want attention paid to this fraudulent use of my money and the amounts taken refunded immediately.

found out this is legitimate, had to call 1300 696 397 to talk to staff as I have paper delivers and I never updated my email address to keep up to date that they added online access to my account at the same price of the papers, updated my email and have lots more to use including I got tickets to nrn games last year and won a $2000 holiday. keep up to date on your company's you deal with, thought I was so stupid that i was getting scammed but was my fault for not giving them upto date info, my phone number had changed also. had to then contact lots more including my super. Little things we take for granted and jump to conclusions.

if is legitimate and call them, 1300 696 397, I never updated my info with them, they tried calling me and email, was still getting papers delivered they added internet access with rewards that I won sense a 2k holiday and tickets to NRL etc.

The Visa Charge for News Digital Subs Surry Hills for $12 every 4 weeks shows Books, Periodicals and Newspapers when expanded. There is no details of who is behind the charge. My 89 year old father lives in a care facility and his credit card has been charged with this amount since May 2018. He has no foxtel or any other streaming service so I will contact the credit card provider and have the payment stopped and see what happens. If it is legitimate my father is certainly not using it or getting any benefit from it.
