I recently was charged $963.63 from DMI* Dell Corp. sending my account into overdraft resulting in more unwarranted fees. It states signed purchase on my CC statement. I do NOT use Dell or Dell related products, in fact, I have not used a PC in 15 yrs. I’ve used Apple products exclusively for my business, home and phone needs, after having a terrible and expensive experience with a brand new, custom built Dell PC. The maddening thing is this is a long standing scam with Dell, since 2015 at least and presumably as a result of inferior products and terrible customer service. You’d think they’d do the right thing and figure out how and why people are using their name to steal money from people who can least afford it. I’ll tell you this, not only will I nor my family nor anyone I come into contact with will ever again use Dell products after I let them know about this latest theft by Dell Corp. I’ve notified my bank and starting an investigation, police report made, card cancelled and now every internet customer service website and consumer product review site I and everyone I know can find, will be relating this story. It may not hurt Dells bottom end, as I’m sure they don’t care, but perhaps it will ohelp the next person they allow to get ripped off. “ a satisfied customer will tell anyone that asks, a dissatisfied one will tell anyone that’ll listen.” Shame on you for allowing this to continue.
It is entirely possible that it is not Dell at all. It is more likely some fraudster who stuck Dell in the name. I have never seen Dell charge anything out as DMI Dell Business Corp. Everything we have purchased from them, even refurbished machines, has been just under the Dell name and logo. That "DMI" is the thing that sets this apart from the regular Dell company.
4 charges from “DMI*Dell Bus Corp” prompted fraud alert from my credit card company and while on phone with them, 2 more charges appeared. I had to cancel card and notify 3 vendors with whom I did business day before and whose charges were not yet pending for me to verify. Happy Holidays!
