RCS is an operation that runs several state/county fairs and similar short term events offering portable carnival type rides, carnival games, and portable kitchens selling everything from deep fried butter to Greek food to elotes & tacos. If you attended one of these types of events around the time that these charges appeared, then it's most likely completely legitimate. The same is true if you went to a different type of event where fair-style food vendors were available, like a street fair or certain block parties. It's understandable to expect the name of the event or the location where you purchased a snack to show up on your statement, but the name RCS is plastered everywhere at many of their events. If you won a stuffed animal at one of the midway games, RCS is probably on the tag (they make many of the prizes, but not all of them). Laveen, where the business is registered, is a relatively obscure Arizona "town". Which understandably raises concern. But it's basically just a very small suburb of Phoenix and Phoenix is absolutely not an obscure city. If you look on a map, Laveen literally just looks like a neighborhood in the sprawling, interconnected connected, knock-off Los Angeles geographical area known as metro Phoenix. The entire ghastly amalgamation should literally just be referred to as Phoenix (sorry Mesadale Valley or Scottsdler Creek or whatever, you're all just Phoenix lol). And keep in mind that charges may remain in pending status for a few days, so it's not a huge red flag if the charge is on a later date than the date when you visited the fair or other temporary event. I'm not affiliated with RCS in anyway. I simply discovered the fact that Laveen is a "city" that exists (approximately a 90 minute drive from the city where I've resided for 28 of my 35 years of life) while looking at the tag of a sparkly RCS dragon that I won at the Pima County Fair this year. Hope this helps! And if you haven't been to a temporary event (that may or may not have offered deep fried Twinkies for purchase) around the time of the charge, then it's definitely worth looking into more. The good news is that you/your card servicer should be able to contact the company easily, as it is a legitimate company with easily accessible contact information available on their website, among other locations.

Since editing is not an option, I'm adding that "RCSFUN" is the most commonly used name for the business. They have active business social media accounts plus clearly listed email address, mailing post office box mailing address, and phone number. Their website also features a page listing major recent and upcoming events. As of June 2023, all of the listed events have occurred in Arizona, California, or Texas. Cochella + Stagecoach music festivals, Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo, and Houston's World Championship BBQ Contest are some of the recent events that are not explicitly stated to be fairs or carnivals. But, again, they sometimes have a few food vendors at more obscure events. So the fact that you didn't attend any of the events listed on their website isn't immediate cause for panic!

They also operate permanent Ferris wheels in Miami & New Jersey under the names Skyview Miami and Dream Wheel NJ. I'm not sure if the charge would show up as RCS or not. The NJ location also has an RCS-run restaurant named "Deep Fried Love" and a gift shop. It appears to be located within the American Dream Mall. I honestly wouldn't be surprised if RCS also operates random card ready claw machines, vending machines, and other "swipe your card without much thought about who the business is" services. Hopefully this is the final addition!
